I am interested in everything MS related.
I must. As I was diagnosed with MS (at least de-myelination in my brain) in 1996.
More about my MS in a separate article MS cures story.
As I have no any MS symptoms, I myself am not interested in any MS cures. Furthermore, I know enough about almost everything related to autoimmune diseases, so I know, what to do to stay away of almost any degenerative process.
The article, I came across recently, is very short. Author of this article, Suz W. Hussey, is a freelance writer, mainly reviewing music for over twenty years. As I can see, neither she nor anybody in her family is a MS sufferer. Therefore her article is ‘empty’. She says:
I know people who are sympathetic try to offer all sorts of methods and means to cure MS. They mean well, but, as an MS patient, don’t you clench your teeth at their lack of MS education?
I am pretty sure – everybody who got a serious disease, is curious concerning everything this condition related. Again:
It took us decades to make it this far in MS research and maintenance of this unpredictable, debilitating disease. Let’s not shut the door on the few that offer advice and encourage them to educate themselves.
Who she is speaking about, saying ‘us’?
And so forth. Finishing article, Suz generously provides several “helpful” web addresses. Ironically, all these web sites are created by pharmaceutical companies, producing so-called MS drugs etc.

Orthodox medicine presently is using two drugs groups to possibly reduce MS symptoms:
Orthodox medicine, driven by very powerful multi-billion pharmaceutical industry, proposes some medicines for some multiple sclerosis symptoms treatment. Today’s reality – every drug available in medicine today carries a risk of side effects, including over the counter remedies.
No corticosteroid treatment is currently approved, however, those disease modifying therapies that reduce progression of Primary Progressive and Progressive/Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis MS may be beneficial.
Currently used multiple sclerosis drugs are immunomodulatory. This means the approved drugs used specifically in the treatment of multiple sclerosis have a direct effect on immune system and therefore their use carries the risk of compromising the body’ s ability to fight infection and may also interfere with the body’ s tumor surveillance mechanisms…
The main problem is – the mechanisms by which the drugs exert their influence on the course of multiple sclerosis exacerbations is unknown. By definition this makes them experimental.
There are lots of information about all approved for MS treatment drugs. However, possible (and existing) side effects (sometimes very dangerous) are not so well documented.
Corticosteroids
Corticosteroids are prescribed for literally hundreds of conditions, including multiple sclerosis.
Short-term treatment (3-5 days) with corticosteroids (like prednisone, methylprednisolone, dexamethasone, others) can aid during periods of acute relapse.
Corticosteroids work by possibly decreasing the intensity of the body’s defense system’s reaction to the myelin in the central nervous system.
Many of the side–effects of steroids are predictable. Not all side–effects occur in all patients. All are related to:
- the amount of steroid a patient takes a day
- the length of time the patient remains on the medication
Prednisone is a replacement for a naturally in a body synthetised steroid Hydrocortisone, which was replaced with Prednisone because of the only reason – it can not be patented! So presently instead of natural steroid hormone is used synthetic one, containing lots of danfgerous adverse effects. More about many healing aspects of Hydrocortisone and other natural hormones – in an article ‘Hormones and Chronic Disease‘, where David Brownstein, MD, states: “I have yet to see a patient with rheumatoid arthritis or scleroderma (or other autoimmune disorders) who has normal hormone levels”.
Benefits
- To hasten recovery from acute attacks
- To prevent damage to the blood-brain barrier.
Some reported side effects:
- Sodium retention
- Increased appetite
- Increased fat deposits
- Increased acid in your stomach
- Increased sweating, especially at night
- Increased hair growth
- Acne on the face, back, and chest
- Bone and muscle problems
- Growth problems in children
- Eye problems
- Increased sugar in the blood
- Increased sensitivity to the sun
- Delayed wound healing
- Decreased ability to fight infection
- Thrush (Candida) growth in the mouth…
By the way, very interesting and truthful explanation how steroids are worsening the situation came from web site “
Electroherbalism” chapter “
Autoimmune Disorders“:
The normal prescription for inflammatory disorders are strong antiinflammatories like steroids. These can certainly decrease symptoms but since they are covering up the problem and doing nothing to treat it, make it worse in the long run. A more ridiculous prescription for treating a pathogen-induced illness is a drug which decreases immune function. Since there are less immune cells to “call to arms” there is less inflammation. I can think of no better way to allow a pathogen to overrun and destroy tissue more quickly.
I initially was treated with mega dozes of injectable methyl-prednisone (Solu Medrol) and my situation after such a treatment worsened significantly.

We know that all drugs used to treat
multiple sclerosis
- are mainly experimental
- induce dangerous side effects
- are associated with dangerous uknowns
That means that every multiple sclerosis sufferer before treatment must balance carefully MS symptoms reduction against the potential for adverse side effects.
Final notes:
- I have no personal experience with multiple sclerosis drugs. I think I am extremely lucky (I wasn’t treated with any of them), especially considering that I know MS sufferers who had to discontinue such a treatment because of terrible and dangerous adverse effects.
- I am not interested in multiple sclerosis drugs at all. However, substantially more complete, well presented and documented information can be found in a website specifically designed for multiple sclerosis drugs.
- My most important message to all MS-ers – multiple sclerosis can be cured or at least tempered with all-natural dietary supplements. More information here.

The dynamic MS market continues to grow unabated; seven major market revenues increased 14.7% from 2005 to $4.6 billion in 2006. Growth is driven by the highly successful beta-interferon brands, Teva’s Copaxone (glatiramer acetate), and the recent relaunch of Tysabri; the first launch of a new MS treatment for six years >>>
<<< Despite the comparatively large MS population, the UK only accounted for 1.1% of the 7MM (major market) total in 2006. Datamonitor believes the UK has potential to be a much more profitable and attractive MS market. If treatment rates were on par with Germany, the UK market could have been worth $293m in 2006almost six times higher than the actual value.
In order to successfully position a new drug class in the market, future market players must have a clear and focused marketing strategy. With Copaxonelaunched in 1997Teva has set the benchmark, and by utilizing similar tactics, future MS players can successfully position novel therapies in the market >>>

Honestly, I can not catch the point of this article.
No single word about MS sufferers, MS symptoms reducing or elimination, nothing…
They speak about market, profits and possibilities (strategies) to make even money money (smart strategies). MONEY!
No single word about their drugs – what they are supposed to treat, efficiency, reliability, side effects etc.
By the way – all so-called MS drugs are experimental. Again – pharmaceutical industry makes multi-billion USD business, performing experiments on humans. More information: MS Treatment Market will Reach $11.9 Billion by 2011.
Psychology behind the scenes is shortly described in article Advantages of MS ! ? !.
However, there are lots of folks who managed to stop and/or reverse their MS symptoms.
I reversed my MS symptoms in 1997. I am on a permanent MS remission since.
Most importantly – there are known some major MS causes and some highly effective natural side effects-free MS cures.
One more thing – Multiple Sclerosis has the same origins as all other autoimmune diseases.
Everybody MUST choose what is best to him or her.
All best -

Multiple Sclerosis, some considerations concerning MS
Here Gerald Hendess from Germany, among others, depicts multiple sclerosis ‘advantages’ of all sorts for different groups.
MS has many advantages in comparison to other diseases
For those patients affected by MS:
- The disease is not immediately critical in most cases.
- The MS caused disturbances are often – at least partially – reversible.
- Most MS symptoms can be efficiently self-recognized by the affected patients without special instruments and more often than not, in more detail than the doctors.
For doctors and therapists:
- Basic source of income – patients will always come again at regular intervals
- No nasty surprises or any other spectacular thing happens during the general run of treatment. On the other hand the disease does continue with varied symptoms which cannot be foreseen, thus it does not get too boring.
- Not much danger of giving the wrong treatment. The treatment options are quite clear at the moment.
For the pharmaceutical industry:
- Colossal business turnover with presumably relevantly high profits for interferons etc (interested in pharmaceutical industry profits – look at MS Treatment Market will Reach $11.9 Billion by 2011. Those responsible have probably got blisters on their fingers from counting money. From the economic point of view, interferon is a brilliant success. Each consumer ensures an annual turnover of approximately 15.000 Euro. As the progress of MS is only slowed down but not cured by this medicine, most patients will be consuming for a long time.
*
As one can see, MS has many positive aspects, although there is a certain amount of discomfort for those directly concerned
*
Who wonders why, in a situation such as this, no solutions have been found to cure this illness. Research seems to be done mainly on a microbiological level concerning the primary inflammation. Perhaps, on this level, there is the possibility of finding something similarly lucrative to the interferons that are momentarily in use. This seems to be a rather complicated way of trying to find the cause of MS. The rather meager results that have been attained, confirm this impression.
Other attempts to find solutions for MS hardly find any interest. There are for example diverse epidemiological studies concerning MS, that open many other points of view. The Canadian geologist Dr. Ashton F. Embry (his son has MS) collected these studies and tried to come to conclusions of how to treat MS with nutrition (www.direct-ms.com). His aim was to identify the cause of MS and thus to improve or even cure the disease. His results should be followed up more consequently.
It is difficult to avoid the impression that only MS-patients have a real interest in curing their disease. How can it otherwise be possible, that such simple thoughts have not been followed up by professional research projects?
Reality check: there are some very powerful forces around (subjective as well as objective) that will never make Multiple Sclerosis treatable. At the same time there are other – user-friendly, natural, nasty and dangerous side effects-free ways to deal with symptoms of MS and other autoimmune diseases
By the way, I managed to cure MS, reverse my MS symptoms and stay on a permanent Multiple Sclerosis remission from 1997, using no dangerous pharmaceutical drugs

NewswireToday – Report Buyer, the online destination for business intelligence for major industry sectors, has added a new report showing the growth of MS treatments from $4.4 billion in 2004 to nearly $5.9 billion in 2006
“Multiple Sclerosis: Worldwide Market Outlook to 2011” predicts a growth of $6 million by 2011. The report shows the approval of four MS treatment therapies, which generated more than $1 billion in sales each in 2006, contributed to the market’s 15% increase over 2004.
The report predicts that new formulations for existing treatments and new developments, as well as the rising rate of MS across several regions of the world, will support a 15.2% revenue increase over the next five years.
An estimated 2.5 million people worldwide suffer from MS which is a chronic disease that causes significant disability, inflammation, and scarring of the myelin sheaths covering nerves. A decision by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) to recommend Tysabri (natalizumab) for a severe form of multiple sclerosis (MS) offers UK patients renewed hope of regaining control over their disease.
NICE’s recommended the new MS drug Tysabri for use in patients with rapidly evolving severe relapse-remitting MS. With no other disease modifying drug recommended by NICE for MS, this recommendation represents a significant milestone for the UK MS market, although it is understood that this will have no impact on the ongoing risk-sharing scheme for other treatments.
The rapid, sustained uptake of Tysabri will result in it becoming the UK MS market leader by 2009, with sales of $29m. With the ongoing restrictions to other marketed drugs and Tysabri’s impressive efficacy profile, this market-leading status is forecast to continue through to 2016…
… Over a two year period, treatment with Tysabri has been shown to result in a 68% relative reduction in clinical relapses and a 54% relative reduction in the risk of sustained disability progression compared with placebo. Subsequently MS sufferers will be able to enjoy a more active and less dependable life.
The report concludes that the disease is undergoing dramatic changes. Regions that were once considered to have low incidence and prevalence of multiple sclerosis are now displaying increases that were not apparent even within the last 10 years.
“Multiple Sclerosis: Worldwide Market Outlook to 2011” focuses on currently marketed products in the MS market and includes statistical information for MS worldwide and by selected countries, with special emphasis on the major pharmaceutical markets: the United States, Europe, and Japan.

I am sad looking at such an information. The only explanation for that – monster pharmaceutical industry wants to increase profits even more.
They will make everything to persuade MS sufferers that the only option to improve their life – usage of their terribly expensive and often generating serious side effects immunosuppressant drugs.
And they never tell you about existing non-invasive, natural user-friendly alternatives.
I know that – I managed to stop progressing of my initially actively progressing (2 attacks in 4 months) Multiple Sclerosis. Performed MRI scan clearly showed plaques thorough my brain.
At the same time my MS symptoms were growing quite actively. Routine official orthodox treatment – mega doses of methyl-prednisone (Solu-Medrol) – was applied for me. More details can be found in article MS cures story.
As my overall condition after that treatment worsened significantly, I started thinking: ‘Something wrong with this chemical etc treatment…’ and decided to finish my contacts with orthodox medicine.
Today, over 10 years on permanent MS symptoms remission, my health still slowly improves – completely without these nasty and highly dangerous synthetic drugs.
Final words:
- MS symptoms, as well as symptoms of all autoimmune diseases can be reduced (ideally decimated), using only natural, user-friendly medicines
- supposedly, my healthspan is slowly rising
All best
